Plastic surgery of the eyelids is performed for hanging eyelids and/or bags under the eyes. The operation is done under local anaesthesia combined with sedation. Surplus skin and any bulging fat are removed. After the operation there is swelling and bruising for one to two weeks. The stitches are removed after four to six days.
