Suitable for treatment of persons troubled by
superficial blood vessels on their legs. Aethoxysclerol
is injected into the vessels and irritates the vessel
walls from the inside, which results in closure of the
vessel. The injected vessels become blue and more
prominent than before during the first weeks after the
treatment, but they become successively paler and
finally disappear. Injection is associated with
insignificant pain since the agent has a local
anaesthetic effect. Temporary redness of the skin and
itching can occur at the injection site. Following the
procedure the leg is wrapped with an elastic compression
bandage that should remain in place for three days.
The procedure is done in Falköping and Jönköping.
